Project 2 - Rough Draft

2 photos of the same subject taken with two different f/stops at least 3 f/stops apart.

Photo Description: M&M's House of Ice was a nice subject to shoot on a hot Saturday at 2:35 pm. My family and I stopped off there after my heard about it from a friend and had been wanting to satisfy a pregnant craving for a snow cone. I imagine we will be back there some time in the near future.

Date Created: 2012:09:22 02:35:45
Camera Model: Canon EOS REBEL T3i
F/Stop: 32
Shutter Speed: 1/2000
ISO: 6400
Focal Length: 41.0 mm
Exposure Program: Shutter speed priority AE
Flash: Off, Did not fire

Photo Description: This picture is of the same subject, but with an F/Stop of 13. I kind of like this image better because it is lighter in color.

Date Created: 2012:09:22 02:36:35
Camera Model: Canon EOS REBEL T3i
F/Stop: 13
Shutter Speed: 1/1000
ISO: 800
Focal Length: 41.0 mm
Exposure Program: Shutter speed priority AE
Flash: Off, Did not fire

2 photos of the same subject where something is moving taken with two different shutter speeds, one slow and the other fast.

Photo Description: This picture was taken at 5:42 pm last Monday during our mini class field trip down to the fountains in front of Farish Hall. Shooting the fountain subject with a shutter speed of 1/2000 really slowed down the water and made for a great study in motion.

Date Created: 2012:09:17 05:42:02
Camera Model: Canon EOS REBEL T3i
F/Stop: 5.6
Shutter Speed: 1/2000
ISO: 1600

Date Created: 2012:09:17 05:42:37
Camera Model: Canon EOS REBEL T3i
F/Stop: 6.3
Shutter Speed: 1/100
ISO: 100
Focal Length: 49.0 mm
Exposure Program: Shutter speed priority AE
Flash: Off, Did not fire

1 photo of any subject demonstrating that you have used one of the composition guidelines discussed in the Module Three resources.

Photo Description: This photo is of some Spanish moss that I saw on the ground while walking from my office to Farish Hall. It was at 4:28 pm and does a nice job of using Photo Composition Tip 3: Aspect ratio. The subject is just off center and you get a sense of the texture of the Spanish moss as it rests inert on the ground.

Photo location: My backyard
Time of day: 3:00 pm
Is the photo different? Yes. This one is a little out of focus

Any other information: I used the manual focus setting here which accounts for the softer focus. I would think that if I had a viewfinder attachment that magnifies the view I might have avoided the softer focus.
Photo improvements: Did not use the flash.

Welcome to my new photo blog for CUIN 7368. I am starting to get the hang of this, but don't hold me to it...I said STARTING...

Anyway, hopefully I will come up with some pretty unique and interesting stuff based on what I am learning in the classroom of academia and in life.

Enjoy.
